Benefit from our expertise to make your projects a success

Our open-pit quarries boast a truly impressive face of sandstones, sometimes several hundred metres wide.

Extracting sandstone blocks from our quarries

The first step in working this precious sandstone starts with our teams of drillers and machine operators, also called ‘mineurs boutefeu’. When extracting stone blocks from a quarry, holes of 5 to 10 cm in diameter are drilled in transverse rows into the stone. The sandstone blocks are then excavated by using explosives, a method demanding high precision and training.

Once the blocks of 1.5 to 3.5 m3 are excavated, they are loaded into trucks and directly transported to our quarry in Adamswiller. This is where the impressive stone blocks are being stored and later dressed by our quarrymen according to our clients’ individual project specification.

Dressing and finishing

Dressing stones is a meticulous craftsmanship mastered by our quarrymen who cut the stone blocks into slabs or cobblestones of various sizes and thicknesses and apply customised finishes: polished, abrasive, dented, corrugated, etc. We unlock the full potential of our sandstones in order to always perfectly meet the requirements of our professional clients and private customers.

As a team we master an ancient craftsmanship with cutting-edge technologies. Our professional clients and private customers benefit from our unique expertise and true passion for the Vosges sandstone.
